About Leading for Impact

As an organizational leader in academic medicine, relying solely on past knowledge and experience may no longer be enough to navigate today’s evolving challenges. Success at this level requires a growth mindset, systems thinking, and the ability to lead collaboratively—aligning culture, strategy, and goals to drive meaningful change across your institution.

Leading for Impact is designed for staff and faculty leaders who are ready to expand their leadership capacity and apply new approaches to complex organizational challenges. Through a contextualized, data-driven curriculum, participants explore practical strategies for influencing culture, guiding teams through change, and translating strategy into measurable results.

The program combines progressive learning experiences, reflection, and personalized coaching to equip leaders with the tools, insights, and confidence to lead authentically and effectively. By strengthening collaboration, alignment, and strategic implementation, Leading for Impact empowers leaders to make a lasting impact on their teams, institutions, and the broader academic medicine community.

What to Expect

Registration for all three workshops in the series is now open, allowing you to bundle the full experience for maximum impact and highest price savings. While each workshop may be taken individually, the curriculum is intentionally designed as a progressive series, and participants are strongly encouraged to enroll in all three workshops for the most comprehensive development experience.

1. Workshop 1: Shaping Organizational Culture
   July 21 & 23, 2026 | Virtual | 1pm-4pm ET
   Examine the drivers of institutional culture and develop practical strategies to cultivate an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing environment. Participants will explore how culture influences outcomes and create targeted tactics to shape it intentionally.
2. Workshop 2: Leading Through Change
   October 13 & 15, 2026 | Virtual | 1pm-4pm ET
   Strengthen your ability to guide teams through uncertainty. This module explores change management strategy, common responses to change, and the balance between process and people. Leaders will apply systems-thinking to navigate complex challenges and sustain momentum.
3. Workshop 3: Implementing Strategy as a Leader
   December 1 & 3, 2026 | Virtual | 1pm-4pm ET
   Move from strategic intent to measurable progress. From a change leader perspective, participants will develop practical implementation plans, anticipate barriers, and create actionable approaches tailored to their unique institutional context.

Who Should Attend?

This program is open to both staff and faculty. Representative titles may include, but are not limited to, Associate or Vice Dean, Center Director, Administrator, Department or Vice Chair, Designated Institutional Official, Executive or Senior Director, Division or Section Chief.

Participant responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, budgetary and strategic operational planning, the oversight of administration and accreditation, administrative leadership in areas of curriculum development, faculty development, performance and human resource management, and financial planning and management.

CME and CPE credit will be available for eligible participants.
