OnTour Special Event - 2026 guidED Conference

We've all been there. You travel for work and never get to actually explore the locale, see the sights, taste the food, experience the heritage and all that the city has to offer.

Well, that stops now!

guidED moves across the country so that we can explore Canada and see where veterinary leaders live, work and play. After an incredible launch in St. John’s in 2024, and a memorable return in Victoria, Vet Alliance OnTour is now a core part of the experience.

Be part of our OnTourage (see what we did there?!) and join the Vet Alliance team for a fun day out. Make new friends and catch up with others as we check out the best of Edmonton, Alberta! This is a completely optional event for those looking for an all-inclusive adventure during the day - culminating in the Welcome Reception and official start of guidED.

A Zoo? Seriously? Yes!

guidED is all about curiosity, challenging, learning, and understanding. It’s about exploring Canada to see all of the places that our colleagues live, work, and play. Not just in traditional practice, but everywhere.

We know that some people may feel more, or less, comfortable with the concept of wild animals in captivity. We’ll be honest, we weren’t sure initially, but we’ve done our diligence, met with their veterinarian, learned about their efforts around conservation and species survival planning, and even questioned around one of their more controversial (in the spotlight) residents…

Their passion and drive shines through – their dedication to their work and the animals in their care is heartfelt, full of compassion and focused on welfare, comfort, enrichment and …joy.

Even through our critical lens, we were impressed, and frankly inspired.

We felt hopeful for the way we protect species, and educate future generations, and it’s led to our belief, and hope, that this behind-the-scenes, interactive experience, is something you will value for the rest of your lives.
