About the CPAN/CAPA Exam Voucher Program

Vouchers can be purchased through the Center for Nursing Professional Development (CNPD) on this site. The vouchers are used as payment when applying for a CAPA or CPAN certification. This program will not be covering re-certification.

The certification vouchers include candidate enrollment in Test Assured. When a candidate pays with an organizational voucher, they will automatically be enrolled in the Test Assured program. The Test Assured program allows CPAN or CAPA candidates to take the exam twice in a 12‐month period if the first attempt is unsuccessful.

Vouchers will be honored up to pay up to $474 for a CAPA or CPAN certification.

Once you have purchased the voucher, you will receive two emails. The first email is your receipt of payment. The second email will provide you a unique voucher code for use as payment when applying for CPAN or CAPA certification. 

Vouchers are valid for one year from date of purchase and are non‐refundable and non-transferable.

Individuals may not sit for the same exam twice within an administration window.

Note: Participants may continue to sit for the CPAN and CAPA examinations within the same window.

Participants who pass the CPAN/CAPA exam on the first attempt will not receive another attempt and the program cost is non-refundable.

Please see ABPANC website for more detailed information, specifcs, and test centers available. You may have to travel outside of the Rochester area for an available testing center. This is just a brief overview.

If you do not pass the exam on your first attempt, your second examination fee is waived. Candidates who fail the examination may re-apply for the examination during the next available examination administration window, but may not apply for the examination during the same examination administration window in which they failed.

You must take the exam within two administrations of your first attempt. There are no extensions to this deadline- no exceptions.

Unsuccessful candidates who use the discount are not eligible for a withdrawal or rollover to a subsequent examination. Instructions on how to apply the discount will be provided in the score report that is mailed to the candidate.

If you are unsuccessful on the second attempt, there is no refund
