Invitation from the President

Dear Esteemed Music Colleagues,

I am excited to extend an invitation to the 2027 OkMEA Winter Conference in Tulsa, OK. This four-day event will take place from January 20-23 at the Arvest (formerly Cox) Convention Center, Tulsa Performing Arts Center, DoubleTree, and Hyatt Regency hotels.

The OkMEA Winter Conference continues to be your opportunity to recharge and reconnect with fellow music educators and community stakeholders–a key annual gathering for professional development, collaboration, and the celebration of student achievement.

  • Enjoy more than 10 concerts featuring All-State ensembles and outstanding honor groups from across Oklahoma. These talented students have dedicated themselves to excellence and are ready to share their artistry.
  • Choose from 40+ professional development sessions covering a wide range of topics designed to elevate your teaching and provide fresh tools and inspiration for your classroom.
  • Explore the exhibit hall, where you’ll discover an engaging mix of exhibitors offering resources for fundraising, performance, collegiate programs, and more.

The mission of OkMEA remains focused on supporting and enriching the experience of music educators and students across our state. We invite you to join us in Tulsa this January as we celebrate the power of music education at our 85th annual conference.

Sincerely,
Amber Mash
OkMEA President

Cancellation/Rescheduling Policy

Because of the size and complexity of the convention, OkMEA does not normally cancel or reschedule events due to weather conditions. However, in cases of extreme weather, natural disasters, public safety emergencies, or other circumstances beyond OkMEA’s control, the Association reserves the right to adjust schedules, modify events, or make other necessary changes for the safety of participants and attendees.

OkMEA All-State Ensembles, Honor Groups, conference sessions, and other scheduled events are expected to take place as listed in the convention schedule, subject to schedule adjustments approved by the OkMEA Board.

Students participating in OkMEA All-State Ensembles are expected to arrive on time and participate in all scheduled rehearsals, auditions, and performances unless otherwise notified by OkMEA leadership. Travel difficulties or local weather conditions should not be assumed to excuse absence or tardiness unless specifically communicated by OkMEA.

Because convention expenses and contractual obligations are incurred in advance, registration fees, audition fees, convention fees, and other participation costs are non-refundable, including in cases of weather-related travel disruptions, schedule adjustments, or circumstances beyond OkMEA’s control.

Questions regarding weather-related procedures or schedule adjustments should be directed to the OkMEA Executive Director.
