PaediCritical: Advanced Interprofessional Paediatric Emergency and Resuscitation Care 2027 is designed to provide healthcare professionals with an opportunity to practice and demonstrate advanced resuscitation skills, including procedural, medical, and crisis resource management skills in the context of acute paediatric emergencies.

The program utilizes a blended approach, combining asynchronous online learning with in-person simulation-based training. The in-person programming includes a combination of hands-on procedural skill stations, and immersive, interactive, high-fidelity, and team-based simulation scenarios.

Target Audience

All participants engage in all eight stations

0800-0815:
Intro and pre- brief

0815-1150:
Rotate through four procedural skills stations, 45 minutes each.

1150-1230:
Lunch (voucher provided)

1230-1245:
Pre-brief

1245-1620:
Rotate through four immersive, high-fidelity, team-based simulations, 45 minutes each.

1620-1630:
Closing

Target Audience:

PaediCritical is designed for:  

  • Healthcare providers who may encounter paediatric emergencies in their workplace (ex: emergency department, critical care, urgent care, in-patient, out-patient/ambulatory, primary care, operating room, etc.).  
  • Healthcare providers who participate as an active member of paediatric resuscitation teams in response to a variety of emergency situations  
  • Healthcare providers who are responsible for performing advanced resuscitation skills during paediatric emergencies  
  • Healthcare providers who are interested in simulation-based training opportunities to practice performing high acuity, low-occurrence skills and scenarios  

 

ACCREDITATION (CME) INFORMATION 

This activity is an accredited simulation activity (Section 3) as defined by the Maintenance of Certification Program of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada and approved by the SickKids Simulation Program. This course qualifies for a maximum of 7.5 hours (credits are automatically calculated).
