Institutional Leadership and Governance

Leading with Purpose. Driving Institutional Impact.

Academic medicine is navigating a period of rapid transformation, requiring leaders who can align their mission, strategies, and operations in an increasingly complex environment. The Institutional Leadership and Governance program track brings together enterprise leadership including deans, executives, administrators, and emerging leaders to explore how institutions can adapt, innovate, and lead with clarity and purpose. This year’s sessions examine critical challenges such as financial sustainability, accreditation evolution, workforce pressures, and global engagement, highlighting how strategic decision making and effective governance can strengthen resilience and long-term impact.

This curated track also emphasizes leadership in action, bringing accountability, inclusion, and well-being to the forefront of all work, while strengthening connections between institutions and the communities they serve. Attendees will engage with practical approaches to institutional planning, professional development, communication, and partnership-building, including strategies to elevate patient and community voices and expand opportunities through intentional workforce initiatives. By following this track, attendees will gain insights and tools to lead confidently through complexity, translate vision into action, and shape the future of academic medicine at scale.
