Biomedical Research and Discovery in Changing Times

Adapt, Sustain, and Discover

The biomedical research enterprise is navigating shifting federal funding priorities, evolving institutional strategies, and mounting pressure on the research workforce, forcing leaders to make difficult decisions—while never losing sight of the discoveries that improve and save lives. The Biomedical Research and Discovery in Changing Times program track brings together research leaders, faculty scientists, department chairs, graduate and postdoctoral program directors, and institutional administrators united by a shared commitment to sustaining the research mission in the face of unprecedented uncertainty.

This curated track highlights strategies to adapt research enterprise models to shifting funding realities, support and retain the next generation of research talent, and lead with agility when the path forward is unclear. By following this track, attendees will engage with emerging evidence, honest peer-to-peer dialogue, and practical frameworks—leaving equipped to make informed decisions, advocate for their research communities, and advance discovery in a rapidly changing environment.
