Optional Educational Credits

Live attendance is required at this virtual conference to be eligible for any credit.

Continuing Medical Education (CME) is primarily for medical professionals (nurses, MDs, social workers, psychologists, etc. see full list below), while Continuing Education Units (CEUs) is for a broader range of professionals.

Learners requesting CME credit are eligible to receive a Stanford Center for Continuing Medical Education CME Certificate (of up to 9.25 hours) of credit.

Those requesting CEU Credit will receive a TRANSCRIPT with 1.0 Credit.

The last day to add credits to your registration is April 8th, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. (PST).  Attendees will NOT be able to claim credits after the conference has taken place.

Any other additional steps for claiming credit will be communicated after the conference.

Certificate of Attendance - Free

Every attendee can receive a certificate of attendance upon request at the end of the conference. Please note, these certificates only include: conference title, dates, timeframes, and your name.

In support of improving patient care, Stanford Medicine is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team. 

Credit Designation 

American Medical Association (AMA) 
Stanford Medicine designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 9.25 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditsTM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. 

American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) 
Stanford Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 9.25 ANCC contact hours.  

ASWB Approved Continuing Education Credit (ACE) – Social Work Credit 
As a Jointly Accredited Organization, Stanford Medicine is approved to offer social work continuing education by the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) Approved Continuing Education (ACE) program. Organizations, not individual courses, are approved under this program. Regulatory boards are the final authority on courses accepted for continuing education credit. Social workers completing this activity receive 9.25 general continuing education credits. 

American Psychological Association (APA) 
Continuing Education (CE) credits for psychologists are provided through the co-sponsorship of the American Psychological Association (APA) Office of Continuing Education in Psychology (CEP). The APA CEP Office maintains responsibility for the content of the programs.

Counseling CE
The California Board of Behavioral Sciences recognizes the Association of Social Work Boards (ASWB) and the American Psychological Association (APA) as approval agencies for CE. Through Joint Accreditation, Stanford Medicine is able to provide ASWB and APA credits for its activities.

What information is included on the Stanford Center for Continuing Medical Education CME Certificate?

  • The Stanford Center for Continuing Medical Education CME Certificate includes all the required information for health professionals to apply the credits towards licensure renewal. The certificate provides:
    • Name of learner
    • Name of activity
    • Date(s) of activity
    • Number of credit hours claimed and credit type
    • Activity format (i.e., live activity)
    • Accreditation statement(s)
    • Signature of Associate Dean for Continuing Medical Education
    • Stanford CME contact information

Continuing Education Unit (1.0 CEU Credit) Transcript - $75.00

Continuing Studies units of credit[are] different than the type of credits earned by undergraduate/graduate students. Transferability of Continuing Studies courses to other programs are subject to the receiving institution's policies. Units cannot be applied toward any Stanford degree. Generally, 10 hours of instruction are equal to one unit.

Certified Health Education Specialists (CHES®/MCHES®) Certificate - $25.00

10 Entry Level and 2 Advanced credits. Application for CHES® (entry-level) / MCHES® (advanced level) Category I continuing education contact hours (CECH) will be made to the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing, Inc. (NCHEC).
