Event Summary

The U.S. Naval Institute gathered government, military, and academic leaders to discuss the great power competition and the influences and factors that are shaping the Russian and Chinese worldviews. What can past conflicts such as the Cold War teach us about the renewed strategic competition? What is the global impact of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine?

Keynote speakers and panelists looked at Russia and China’s efforts to change the world order, including activities aimed at challenging the United States. They  explored the historical, cultural, religious, and geographical aspects of China and Russia, both as independent nations and as recent partners.

The conference was offered both in-person and virtually. To view the recorded sessions, click on 'Conference Recordings.
