Module 1 - Implant Principles
September 25–27, 2026
Our first module grounds you in the core principles of implant dentistry. Success starts with a comprehensive assessment reviewing diagnostic records, accurately diagnosing conditions, and designing a patient-centred treatment plan. You’ll learn how to perform an implant-focused dental exam, evaluate force and risk factors, and merge the patient's functional needs and aesthetic goals and expectations. In addition, we’ll introduce key surgical considerations such as bone density evaluation, socket grafting techniques, and the fundamentals of implant placement to help you plan with precision and confidence.

Module 2 - Implant Surgery
October 30–November 1, 2026
In module two, we build on the foundation with step-by-step surgical training. You’ll learn incision and flap designs, surgical sequencing, ISQ (implant stability quotient) assessment, suturing techniques, immediate implant placement, basic bone grafting at the time of surgery, and key postoperative considerations. This module includes 2 full days of live-patient surgery at the faculty dental clinic under the supervision of Drs. Wong and Nguyen— an exclusive experience with our Implant Foundations course.
All doctors need a current license in QC to participate in live surgery sessions.

Two full days of live‑patient surgeries will take place at the Faculty dental clinic on October 31 and November 1, 2026. Each participant is required to bring four patients** and one dental assistant for the surgical sessions.
*The number of cases performed per patient will depend on the participant’s clinical experience and the clinical presentation of their patients. Participants must submit patient information to the course instructor no later than August 30, 2026. Each participant is required to submit six patient files for review, of which four are expected to be accepted for participation in the course.
**Please note that only dentists holding a valid Quebec licence and professional liability insurance are eligible to participate in the live‑patient surgical sessions (Module 2). Temporary licences are not available through the Ordre des dentistes du Québec (ODQ) for out‑of‑province dentists.
Module 3 - Implant Prosthetics
November 20–22, 2026
In the final module, we are honoured to have Dr. Beatrice Leung to help translate surgical success into restorative excellence. You will learn how to evaluate fixed vs. removable prosthetic options, step by step single tooth implant restorations, vertical dimension and full arch reconstructions.

For all ODQ member dentists, the continuing education policy states that each hour of theory training provides 1 CE unit, and each hour of hands-on training provides 2 CE units. For dental hygienists who are members of the OHDQ and all ADA CERP member dentists, the continuing education policy operates on the basis of hours of educational activity, whether theoretical or practical.
Please note that once upon completion of the course, you shall receive a course evaluation email. Once you complete the online course evaluation, the system shall automatically generate the course attestation for you.
