About this Live Webinar

One of UDSMR’s clinical specialists will break down the concepts of IGC coding, provide examples of typical medical conditions and functional deficits that apply to each IGC, and demonstrate the problem-solving necessary to accurately assign an IGC for common patient scenarios. Attendees will understand how to utilize available resources to help guide their IGC selection based on physician documentation and determine the best questions to ask when further documentation clarification is needed to facilitate appropriate IGC assignment.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Understand the definition and significance of an impairment group code (IGC)
  • Recognize when medical record documentation provides sufficient information to select an appropriate IGC, and when additional clarification must be sought
  • Accurately apply knowledge about IGC selection to patient scenarios
