Mike has an undergraduate degree with   honours in environmental science and a PhD in environmental microbiology from   UNSW Sydney. He has worked in the UK, Denmark, Japan and Germany. He is   currently a Professor at UNSW Sydney in the School of Civil and Environmental   Engineering researching and teaching in environmental science and   engineering. He has acquired over $20 million in research funding, published   over 130 articles and supervised over 45 PhD, Masters and Honours candidates   to completion. His primary research interest is in pollutant biodegradation.   He is founder of Novorem   Pty Ltd   supporting Australian industry with environmental microbiology expertise.
