Lead Collaborative Teams with Confidence: Middle Leader Certificate in Building and Leading Teams

Unlock your middle leadership potential and embark on a transformative learning journey at Cambridge International School, Bratislava. This 2-day professional learning experience is designed to support Middle and Teacher Leaders in building cohesive, collaborative, and high-functioning teams that remain focused on student learning and continuous improvement.

Middle and Teacher Leaders play a vital role in shaping the quality of teamwork within a school. They are often responsible for leading teams, guiding collaboration, supporting colleagues, and translating whole-school priorities into consistent and meaningful practice. This course explores how leaders can intentionally foster trust, strengthen collaboration, and create the conditions for effective teamwork to flourish.

Drawing on a strong body of literature and research, the course focuses on the most practical, relevant, and productive approaches to leading teams in schools. Central to this work is the understanding that psychological safety forms the foundation of effective collaboration, strengthened through leaders intentionally building trust over time. Participants will explore the characteristics of highly functioning teams and examine how protocols, structures, and leadership behaviours can create environments where team members feel valued, supported, and empowered to contribute.

Throughout the course, participants will also take a deeper dive into the different types of collaboration, exploring what makes collaboration effective and where it can become challenging. Attendees will examine the conversations that are critical to successful teamwork and consider the processes, behaviours, and approaches that help leaders navigate challenging discussions and promote productive dialogue.

By the end of the course, participants will leave with practical strategies, tools, and leadership approaches to strengthen collaboration, build trust, and elevate the effectiveness of their teams within their school communities.
