Fundamentals of Energy Efficient Building Operations teaches the basic principles of energy efficiency awareness and practices in commercial buildings. The content of this course is designed for those seeking a solid foundational understanding of energy efficiency in building systems who have less than a year of experience in the field or are looking to start a career in facilities or energy management. This content covers basic information well-suited to those who work in facility operations, as well as energy and resource conservation management, such as commercial strategic energy managers and resource conservation managers.  Successful completion of the course (resulting in a Fundamentals Certificate) can be paired with one year of experience for a student to meet eligibility requirements for BOC Level I.  

Building Operator Certification (BOC) is a nationally recognized training and credentialing program for building operators that offers improved job skills and more comfortable energy-efficient facilities. The training is led by industry experts, each with experience in the field they teach.

This course will be livestreamed to participants via Zoom for the duration of the course. Participants must have a computer or tablet that supports high speed audio/video streaming, as well as high speed internet access.
