The California JPIA’s Supervisor Academy provides managers and supervisors with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively lead employees at every stage of their careers. Participants will explore the full employee lifecycle—from recruiting, selection, and onboarding, to mid-career development and performance management, to end-of-cycle practices such as exit interviews and succession planning.
This two-and-a-half-day academy is held in a hotel setting designed to limit distractions and provide focused learning. Participants are presented with unique approaches to help improve the performance, motivation, and commitment of employees in an ever more complex and regulated employment environment.
Registration Information: Registration is only available to members of the California JPIA. Attendance is at no cost to members and includes a three-night hotel stay, breakfast, lunch, and all training materials. Dinner and transportation are not included. The Authority will make hotel reservations for all accepted registrants. For questions regarding your hotel stay, please contact Michelle Aguayo at maguayo@cjpia.org.
Upon submitting your request to register, a “Registration Pending” notification email will be sent to you. During the week of August 17, 2026, the Authority will either confirm registration by email or place you on a waitlist. For those placed on the waitlist, should space become available, you will be notified by email.
If you are a person with a disability and need an accommodation to participate, please contact Michelle Aguayo at (562) 467-8777 or maguayo@cjpia.org at least 48 hours in advance of the event start date. You may also contact our training department at training@cjpia.org.
