When your student begins their journey at Rutgers University - New Brunswick, the entire family experiences the excitement, transition and change. We are here to support family members as well as our new students.
New Parent & Family Orientation is your opportunity to learn more about the university experience, policies and procedures, and how to support your student during the transition to Rutgers.
Important Information
- New Parent and Family Orientation is a separate from New Student Orientation. You do not have to attend the same day as your student's orientation as these are separate programs. For questions about New Student Orientation, your student should email orientation@echo.rutgers.edu.
- The Spring 2026 Parent and Family Orientation will be offered virtually. This webinar allows you to hear directly from the Rutgers units that work to help your student succeed, including Academics, Residence Life, Dining, the Dean of Students, and more. You will have the opportunity to ask questions of Rutgers staff and current Rutgers parents.
- Fees for this program cover staffing and software costs. Please only register one attendee for virtual sessions.
- Reminder emails will be sent no later than three days prior to your session with updates and additional information.
