About the Event

The Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association will host the 2026 Virginia Behavioral Health Summit on Thursday, September 24, 2026, at The Westin Richmond.

Registration and breakfast begin at 7:30 a.m., the opening session starts at 9:00 a.m., and the Summit concludes at 4:45 p.m.

This premier statewide event brings together healthcare leaders, providers, policymakers, patient advocates, and community partners to explore the most pressing behavioral health challenges facing Virginia and the innovative strategies improving care across the Commonwealth. Sessions will focus on expanding access to mental health and substance use services, strengthening workforce resilience and well-being, advancing patient-centered models of care, enhancing crisis response and care coordination, and improving patient and staff safety. Through expert presentations and collaborative discussions, attendees will gain practical insights and actionable strategies to support a stronger, more connected behavioral health system.

The Summit is expected to offer continuing education credit for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and social workers. Information regarding approved credit hours and accreditation details will be shared closer to the event.

RESILIENCY

Building a resilient behavioral health workforce requires intentional action at both the organizational and leadership levels. This event will feature current strategies aimed at reducing burnout, strengthening workforce well-being, and fostering a culture of support.

INNOVATION
