Guests of the host hotel (Grand Sierra Resort and Casino) who provide their hotel reservation confirmation number will receive a discount on AAMA Annual Conference registration. AAMA members also receive a conference registration discount. Not an AAMA member? Join! And once your membership is processed, you’re eligible for the AAMA membership rates.

When do I give my reservation confirmation number for the host hotel to get the conference registration discount?

When you register online, you’ll be asked to provide your hotel reservation confirmation number on the “Additional Information” page. Giving your confirmation number for the host hotel ensures that the discounted price will auto-populate during the registration process on the “Registration Summary” page.

What if I haven’t booked my room at the host hotel yet?

We recommend that you make your hotel reservation before beginning the online registration process. When you register online, you’ll be asked to provide your hotel reservation confirmation number on the “Additional Information” page. Giving your confirmation number for the host hotel ensures that the discounted price will auto-populate during the registration process on the “Registration Summary” page. The host-hotel discount cannot auto-populate without that hotel confirmation code.

What if the AAMA room block at the host hotel is filled—is there a way for me to still get the discount?

If the AAMA room block at the host hotel becomes filled, the AAMA may secure space at an overflow hotel. Once an overflow hotel is confirmed, the AAMA will announce the news via the AAMA website. Anyone who has booked a hotel room at the official overflow hotel(s) and provides their confirmation number during the online registration process will receive the discount.

What’s included in AAMA Annual Conference registration?

Full Registrations (also known as the “Full Conference Package”) include admission to continuing education (CE) sessions, the Welcome and 70th Anniversary Celebration, all Exhibitors Hall events, all continental breakfasts, and the Presidents Banquet (which includes the Mix & Mingle event).

  • NEW THIS YEAR: In response to attendee feedback on session length, and requests for more networking time, the 70th AAMA Annual Conference is shortening CE session durations to 90 minutes (previously 2 hours) and building in more time for networking with fellow medical assistants. To ensure that the 70th AAMA Annual Conference continues to meet the continuing education needs of our attendees, full conference registrants will also receive free access to additional prerecorded courses totaling 6 CEUs. These additional CEU opportunities will be made available in the AAMA e-Learning Center for full conference registrants shortly after the conference.

Daily Registrations include any food functions, events, and CE sessions offered on the day of registration.

Student Daily Registrations include any CE sessions, events, and any scheduled meals on the day of registration.

All registration types include the following items, which they will receive on-site:

  • Registration packet (includes a conference program, helpful guides, and a preconference newsletter)
  • Badge
  • Badge ribbons
  • Complimentary conference pin

How do I get my complimentary conference pin?

You will be able to select and receive either your complimentary conference pin or charm on-site during the check-in process or at any time during the conference. You do not need to select between the two choices during the online registration process.

How do I select my conference badge ribbons?

You will be able to select and take your badge ribbons on-site during the check-in process or at any time during the conference. You do not need to select your badge ribbons during the online registration process.

Does selecting the CE sessions and events I want to attend guarantee that I’ll have a seat?

Any selections you make during online registration—except for the Educator Preconference Workshop—simply indicate your interest in those CE sessions and events. AAMA staff intend to use your answers to gauge interest in those events. Seating at sessions cannot be guaranteed and is provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Early arrival is recommended.

Do I have to attend only the CE sessions I select during online registration?

Nope! We’ve asked that you select CE sessions during online registration so that AAMA staff can gauge attendee interest and plan accordingly. You’re not committed to any of your CE session selections except for any sessions that require separate preregistration and a separate fee. At the AAMA Annual Conference, registrants may attend any CE session they wish that doesn’t require preregistration, as long as their registration includes the day in which the session occurs (e.g., a Monday-only registrant can register for CE sessions and events on only that Monday).

Do I have to select CE sessions to register?

You’re not required to select any of the CE sessions on the “Session Selection” page—unless you want to register for the Educator Preconference Workshop, which requires separate preregistration and a separate fee. However, your CE session selections are appreciated. The reason the AAMA asks that you select CE sessions and events during online registration is so that AAMA staff can gauge attendee interest and plan accordingly.

What about registering for meal events?

If you plan to attend any meal events (breakfasts, the Welcome and 70th Anniversary Celebration, and the Presidents Banquet), you must select them on the “Session Selection” page so we can get an accurate headcount to provide the meals. This will help us in reducing food cost and waste for the conference.

How do I register multiple people for the AAMA Annual Conference?

You will need to complete the registration process for each person. On Step 1, on the “Personal Information” page, give the registrant’s information, then select “I’m registering on behalf of this person.” A new section will appear; input your first name, last name, and email address, and you and the registrant you’ve registered on behalf of will receive a confirmation email once you’ve submitted the registration on the last page (“Submit Payment” page).

For payment, you may pay by credit card or check. If you pay by check, you can pay for all registrants by a single check mailed to the AAMA.

Follow-Up Questions:

How do I get them the host-hotel discounted price?

If any of the registrants for whom you’re registering want to get the host-hotel discount, you must provide their hotel confirmation numbers during the online registration process. You’ll be asked to provide the registrant’s hotel reservation confirmation number on the “Additional Information” page. Giving their host hotel confirmation number ensures that the discounted price will auto-populate during the registration process on the “Registration Summary” page. The host-hotel discount cannot auto-populate without that hotel confirmation code.

Do I need to select all the CE sessions and events they want to attend?

No, you’re not required to select any event during the online registration process that doesn’t require separate preregistration and a separate fee. But AAMA staff appreciate any information you can provide about each registrant’s interest in the planned events and CE sessions.

What if I have a guest and want to bring them to Monday's Welcome and 70th Anniversary Celebration and/or Wednesday's Presidents Banquet?

On the “Registration Options” page, you can purchase meal tickets to bring your guest(s) to either Monday's Welcome and 70th Anniversary Celebration ($75), Wednesday's Mix and Mingle plus Presidents Banquet events ($125), or both. Here’s how: Scroll to the bottom of the “Registration Options” page until you see the heading “Guest Information.” Click the “Add a guest” button. Choose the events for which you wish to purchase a meal ticket for your guest, provide that guest’s information, and click the green button that reads “Select.” Then click the blue “Add” button.

What if I have multiple guests and want to bring them to Monday's Welcome and 70th Anniversary Celebration and/or Wednesday's Presidents Banquet?

On the “Registration Options” page, you can purchase meal tickets to bring your guests to either Monday's Welcome and 70th Anniversary Celebration plus Mix & Mingle ($75), Wednesday's Mix & Mingle plus Presidents Banquet events ($125), or both. Here’s how: Scroll to the bottom of the “Registration Options” page until you see the heading “Guest Information.” Click the “Add a guest” button. Choose the events for which you wish to purchase meal tickets for your first guest, provide that guest’s information, and click the green button that reads “Select.” Then click the blue button “Add.” To add your second guest, repeat the process.

What if I want to change something on a previous page before I submit my registration?

You can go back and forth in the registration process. For example, if you selected CE sessions and then moved to the next step, but then you’ve changed your mind about which CE sessions you’d prefer, you can go back to the “Session Selection” page.

You can click on the green, numbered circles to jump back to a previous page, but you can’t move forward the same way. You must scroll down to the bottom of each page and click “Next” to move forward. The great news is that your progress will be saved on all pages.

Will I receive a confirmation email?

Yes! You’ll receive a confirmation email via Cvent shortly after completing your AAMA Annual Conference registration. The email will be sent to the email address you provided during registration.

What if I made a mistake during registration?

You can edit your registration details even after you submit your registration. Simply use your confirmation number to access your Cvent account.

What if I can’t go anymore?

You can modify and/or cancel your AAMA Annual Conference registration via Cvent. You’ll just need your confirmation number to access your Cvent account.

Cancellations received by Aug. 13, 2026, will be refunded minus a $40 nonrefundable administrative fee. Cancellations received Aug. 14–Sept. 6, 2026, will be refunded minus a $75 nonrefundable administrative fee. Absolutely no refunds will be granted after Sept. 7, 2026.

How do I register when my employer is paying?

You have two options:

(A) Your employer could submit a conference registration on your behalf and pay by credit card or check.

(B) You could submit a conference registration and select to pay by check, and your employer then submits the check within two weeks from the registration submission(s).

I tried to register as a member, but I got a pop-up message that said, “Registration Not Available” and “Contact the planner if you have any questions.” Why?

Make sure you input the email address we have on file for your AAMA membership. The online registration process is set up to recognize current AAMA members via their email address to then populate the membership discount automatically for AAMA Annual Conference registration.

How do I find people to share a hotel room with to save money?

Great idea! We recommend reaching out to fellow attendees by either starting a conversation on the AAMA Facebook page or reaching out to your local chapter or state society leadership.

What's the dress code for the conference?

The dress code for the conference overall is business casual: slacks, skirts, or khakis; dressy shirts, blouses, blazers, and button-down shirts (no tie required) or polo shirts; or dresses.

For the Welcome and 70th Anniversary Celebration on Monday night: business casual (no theme this year)

For the Presidents Banquet on Wednesday night, though, the dress code is cocktail attire: suit and tie; black dresses; dressy jumpsuits or separates; or knee-length, tea-length, or midi dresses.
