Emory / Select Medical Dry Needling Course Series

This dry needling course series provides the required on-site accredited education to meet the requirements of Florida and Georgia. The course series is also accredited in Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia.

This Level 1 dry needling course series will prepare a clinician for the safe delivery of dry needling interventions to muscles over the spine and periphery. The techniques will be demonstrated using a case-based learning strategy. This will assist the clinician to utilize the acquired psychomotor skills, in conjunction with proper clinical reasoning, as part of a comprehensive treatment plan.

The course will include a review of anatomy, palpation, and structures of concern for each technique, along with demonstration and lab practice of each technique listed in the course manual. Upon completing each on-site course, the clinician will be required to sit for a competency examination to assess their ability to safely and effectively administer dry needling to the muscles covered during this course.

Mandatory assigned didactic learning prior to attendance of the course will cover: dry needling theory and science, review of external evidence, infection control, handling of a dry needle, adverse events, emergency response, documentation, and comprehensive patient management.
