This is a One Day Refresher course that builds on the material from the ICISF Group Crisis Intervention Course. This course covers the Crisis Management Briefing, the RITS, the Defusing, the Critical Incident Stress Debriefing, a suggested model for the Post Action Staff Support (PASS) models. Through discussion and video presentations, you will get an opportunity to work with others to enhance your skills and practice the educational/teaching phases of the various group interventions.
*Prerequisite: Group Crisis Intervention
Learning Objectives:
- To increase and practice skills in conducting:
- Crisis Management Briefings
- Defusing
- Critical Incident Stress Debriefings
- To contribute as both a team member and a participant of an event
- To deepen the participants understanding of CISM principles
- To put into practice the “Teaching” phases in each type of group response and to ensure that they are appropriate for the issues of the event
