Guidelines Regarding Presentation Content:
Main Goal:
This presentation is meant to highlight your team’s successes over the last year. It is not intended as a review for funding. We do not expect you to thoroughly cover the entire body of research, but to give an overview of the project with a focus on the accomplishments over the past year.
The Symposium is an annual update to a broad audience, as such each presentation should include:
- A beginning slide clearly explaining the goal of the project.
- Presentation level to a scientifically literate audience, but broad in background.
- Avoid the use of discipline specific jargon or acronyms - unless they are explained clearly.
- Focus on new findings (over the past 12 months), clearly demonstrating progress made and planned next steps.
- Include (either in the presentation or in a backup slide for our reference) a list of all students and post docs supported by the project, and a list of publications and invited presentations over the previous 12 months.
To ensure there is time for questions and to accommodate the large number of talks at this symposium, time limits will be strictly enforced. Each presenter will only be given the allotted time outlined on the agenda. Please arrange your talk to make the important points early.
Please refer to the guidelines below:
- Due to time constraints, an on-site AV tech will be running all presentations.
- All presentations must be submitted by 11:59pm on February 20, 2026. Submit your final presentation.
- Please refer to the agenda for the scheduled time of your presentation.
