Who Should Attend
Registration is limited to VRC Directors and Coordinators who have been in their role for less than two years and limited to one person per college. Please register by October 7, 2026, to reserve your space.
Waitlist - Individuals who have been in their role for more than two years are welcome to join the waitlist. If space becomes available, individuals on the waitlist will be notified via email after Ocrober 7th. To be added to the waitlist, please email Heather McClenahen at hmcclenahen@cccco.edu.
Event Description
The California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office is pleased to announce that registration is now open for the Veterans Resource Center (VRC) New Directors Training, scheduled for Wednesday, November 18, 2026, at the California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office in Sacramento.
This one-day training is designed for new VRC Directors and Coordinators who have been in their role for less than two years. The training will provide a comprehensive overview of VRC operations, state and federal requirements, funding, reporting, best practices, and available resources. Participants will also have the opportunity to engage in small-group discussions and planning sessions with experienced VRC Directors serving on the Veterans Advisory Committee.
Training topics include:
- VRC funding and fiscal cycles
- Vision 2030
- Reporting and MIS data
- Federal and state requirements
- VRC minimum standards
- Best practices and available resources
- Additional essential elements for building and maintaining a high-functioning, student-centered Veterans Resource Center
