
FROM PLATE TO PRACTICE: Navigating Nutrition Noise in Patient Counseling
Join us for a dynamic, hands-on culinary medicine workshop designed to bridge the gap between nutrition science and real-world clinical practice. Learn how to cut through "nutrition noise," address patient eating behaviors, and deliver culturally responsive nutrition counseling that seamlessly fits into busy clinical workflows. This activity includes 1 credit hour in nutrition and metabolic health, focused on the nutritional guidelines recommended by the Texas Nutrition Advisory Committee.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
- Describe evidence-based nutrition principles relevant to common chronic conditions (obesity, diabetes, cardiometabolic disease).
- Apply practical, culturally responsive nutrition counseling strategies to real-world patient scenarios.
- Identify and practice counseling techniques that address eating behaviors, habits, and sustainability.
