ABOUT US
ABOUT US

The OECS Bar Association is the umbrella organisation representing the Bar Associations of the nine Member States and Territories within the jurisdiction of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court: Anguilla, Antigua and Barbuda, the British Virgin Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Registered in Nevis as a non-profit organisation, the Association was established in 1989 to advance the interests of the legal profession, promote the independence and welfare of the judiciary, and uphold the highest standards of professional ethics. Through sustained regional advocacy, it has played a pivotal role in improving judicial conditions of service, developing a model Code of Ethics adopted across the region, and contributing to legal education and legislative reform, including the development of a model Legal Profession Bill.
For more than three decades, the OECS Bar Association has fostered collaboration among members of the Bench and Bar while promoting continuing legal education and the advancement of justice throughout the Eastern Caribbean. Its flagship Regional Law Conference brings together judges, legal practitioners, academics, policymakers and leading legal experts from across the Caribbean and beyond to examine emerging legal issues, share best practices and strengthen professional relationships. As the Association celebrates its 20th Annual Regional Law Conference, it continues its proud tradition of championing legal excellence, regional cooperation, and the rule of law for the benefit of the people and institutions it serves.
