Course Description
Over the past two decades, implant dentistry has evolved dramatically, with significant advances in surgical protocols, implant designs, biomaterials, and restorative workflows. At the same time, clinicians continue to debate many of the fundamental factors that influence long-term implant success. Drawing on 20 years of clinical experience and evidence-based insights, this lecture will explore key developments, current perspectives, and ongoing controversies that shape modern implant treatment.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the critical role of bone as the foundation for predictable implant outcomes, the growing appreciation for peri-implant soft tissue health and stability, and the implant selection factors that contribute to long-term functional and esthetic success. Through clinical cases and practical discussion, attendees will learn how these foundational principles have evolved and how they can be applied to improve patient outcomes in contemporary implant practice.
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Evaluate the influence of peri-implant soft tissue characteristics on estheticoutcomes, peri-implant health, and long-term maintenance.
- Discuss current evidence and clinical controversies related to hard tissue management, soft tissue optimization, and implant selection strategies.
- Apply evidence-based principles for treatment planning and implant therapy to enhance long-term predictability and patient-centered outcomes.
