What does the specification say?

As an industry we “know” many aspects of the use of cast in place and precast concrete. The AIA format lets us understand that Division 3 section 3000 is where they will likely live. For Dot or other non-building work these aspects may differ. 

The presentation will discuss the standard specifications such as ACI 301, the origin of some of the terms and conditions in the specifications and project documents.

The focus will remain on how to understand the documents and how to resolve which documents govern in the case of conflicts. Examples of conflicts and their resolution will be presented. There will be some discussions on the origin of the references and requirements in the specifications.
