From Prompt to Process: Scaling Audit Efficiency with AI, Power Automate, and Agentic Workflows

Artificial Intelligence is changing how Internal Audit teams approach documentation, testing, analytics, and operational efficiency. While many organizations are focused on prompting and productivity, leading audit functions are beginning to combine AI with automation tools such as Microsoft Power Automate to create repeatable, scalable workflows.

This 2.4 CPE-credit session will provide a practical look at how auditors can move beyond isolated AI use cases and begin building structured processes that integrate AI into day-to-day audit activities.

The session will begin with a demonstration of an agentic workflow that combines Microsoft Copilot and Power Automate to streamline Information Produced by the Entity (IPE) documentation and annotation activities. Attendees will see how templates, automation, and reusable workflows can reduce manual effort while improving consistency and scalability across audit engagements.

The second half of the session will transition into an interactive roundtable discussion featuring breakout groups focused on the opportunities, challenges, and future of AI within Internal Audit. Participants will exchange experiences, discuss practical use cases, and explore approaches for driving responsible AI adoption within their organizations.
