What's New?

The 2026 MCNP® User Symposium (hosted by Los Alamos National Laboratory) will be held during the week of August 24 as a hybrid event. The in-person option will take place at the Los Alamos J.R. Oppenheimer Center while the virtual option will use the Cvent platform.

The Symposium is designed to provide a venue for communication among the MCNP development team, MCNP users, and the Nuclear Data Team. The agenda of past MCNP User symposia can be found at https://mcnp.lanl.gov/symposia.html

There will be presentations from developers focusing on recent and planned capabilities. The user community will be invited to propose presentations that highlight unique and challenging applications of the MCNP code. We intend to have sessions that focus on themes of current community interest.

The format will be flexible to accommodate presentations of varying length. There will be opportunities for the user community to ask questions of the developers, request ideas from all on how to solve a particular problem and suggest new code or data features. Attendees do not need an MCNP license, but registration will be required.

If you have questions or suggestions, please email mcnp2026@lanl.gov.

We will have tour options set up of a LANL facility for in person attendees.  We will update this section with the tour location as soon as it is finalized.

If you would like to go on a tour, select it during registration.
