2026 California Traffic Safety Summit, Strengthening Traffic Safety Through Innovation and Partnerships

SUMMARY
The California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) and AAA invite highway safety leaders, public health professionals, law enforcement personnel, and other traffic safety partners from across the state to build on the movement for safer roads. As traffic deaths continue to trend downward, California’s positive momentum in traffic safety shows what can be achieved when collaboration, innovation, and data-driven efforts come together. The 2026 summit theme, “Strengthening Traffic Safety Through Innovation and Partnerships,” affirms the importance of working together to prioritize traffic safety through proven and innovative solutions that prevent crashes and save lives. The summit will bring leaders from diverse disciplines across the state and the nation to engage and educate attendees with best practices, tools and approaches to address persistent and emerging traffic safety issues on California’s roads.
GOALS
- Highlight new innovations and creative ways that are helping to reduce fatalities and serious injuries on California roads.
- Share best practices and actionable measures that are making a difference in addressing risky driving behaviors and advancing upstream, system-level approaches to road safety.
- Collaboratively develop strategies and share resources to facilitate future partnerships.
