Rosé & Résumés is a professional development event designed to help students build confidence and strengthen their networking skills in a welcoming, low-pressure environment.

Junior and senior undergraduates and graduate students begin the evening with opportunities for résumé reviews and professional headshots. At 4:30 p.m., students transition into a guided networking reception, where they'll have the opportunity to practice professional conversation, ask thoughtful questions and begin building meaningful connections with JMU alumni.

As an alumni networker, your role is simply to share your experiences and engage in conversation with students, many of whom may have questions about your career path, industry or experiences since leaving JMU. You don't need to have all the answers; just arrive ready to be the Duke you needed.

As part of this event, attendees are also encouraged to support the JMU Career Closet by bringing donations of new or gently used professional attire. The Career Closet provides free work and interview clothing to JMU students, helping them feel confident and prepared for career fairs, interviews, networking events and the workplace. Light refreshments, including wine, non-alcoholic beverages and hors d'oeuvres, will be served during the networking reception. We request alumni networkers arrive by 4:15 p.m.; parking and accessability information will be sent to participants prior to the event.
