Jeanetta “Outta Sight” Price in Conversation with Bill Porter
Join Jeanetta “Outta Sight” Price, the Storytelling Queen, for an evening of poetry and conversation exploring the intersections of creative practice and lived experience. Price is a poet, transformational storytelling coach, bestselling author of The Write 2 Heal: It’s Not About the Sight Loss, But the Vision Gain, licensed professional counselor, disability advocate, and creator and producer of The Vision Monologues™. Interspersing performances of her poetry with a conversation with artist and educator Bill Porter, Price will reflect on blindness, grief, faith, independence, education, employment, and the role creativity has played throughout her life and work.
The conversation will explore writing as a means of healing and self-expression, as well as the relationship among Price’s creative practice, her work as a therapist, and her advocacy within the blind and low vision community. Price will also discuss The Vision Monologues™, her theatrical project featuring stories performed by a predominantly Blind and low vision cast, and explore the potential of storytelling to challenge assumptions, build community, and advocate for change.
