This course is On-Demand and will cover the basic and advanced evaluation and treatment of the throwing athlete as well as highlight trends and conditions relevant to health care providers who care for throwing athletes of all levels, most specifically to the high level professional baseball player. Course presenters will include members of the Professional Baseball Physical Therapists Society (PBPTS) and USC faculty.

Course Overview:

With the increasing specialization in rehabilitation of baseball injuries, it is essential to understand the unique demands of the sport and how to prevent and effectively treat common injuries. This dynamic course will cover basic and advanced evaluation and treatment of the throwing athlete, and highlight trends and conditions relevant to health care providers who care for throwing athletes of all levels, with a focus on the high level professional baseball player. Course presenters will include members of the Professional Baseball Physical Therapists Society (PBPTS) and USC faculty.

This fully online course is designed for healthcare professionals working with baseball players at all levels, from youth to professional athletes.

The course will cover a broad range of topics, including:

  • Injury Mechanisms: Understanding the forces involved in baseball-specific movements (pitching, batting, fielding) and their impact on the body.
  • Shoulder and Elbow Injuries: Focus on common injuries such as rotator cuff tears, labral tears, UCL injuries, and tendinopathies.
