What to expect at a
WARHAMMER GRAND TOURNAMENT

A quick guide to help you feel right at home on event weekend.

Whether you’re joining us to play, paint, shop, or soak in the atmosphere, here’s everything you need to know before attending.

What to Expect

A Warhammer Grand Tournament is a two-day celebration of Warhammer, complete with epic battles, beautiful armies and a buzzing community. For veteran Warhammer fans, the events are smaller and more focused in nature than a Warhammer Open, oriented around matched play for Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar. The events host around 300 attendees, with all of them participating in multi-day tournaments.

Every Grand Tournament kicks off on a Saturday morning with registration, where you can check-in early, collect your event goodies, browse our carefully curated store and get ready for 5 great games over the next 2-days.

There are no activities outside ticketed events, all are welcome to visit, check things out. There is a smaller, curated selection of event exclusives and merch available at the event, focused on players attending the event. At a Warhammer National Tournament Series event, you’ll find the following:

  • Official Events for Warhammer 40,000 and Warhammer Age of Sigmar
  • Grand Tournaments catered to veteran and new players alike, with player packs and rewards centred around painting, generalship, and the equal combination of the two.
  • Event formats include Warhammer Singles, doubles or teams format tournaments. Usually one of the tournaments on offer for the weekend will be either doubles or teams.
  • Additional Warhammer game systems (e.g., Blood Bowl, the Horus Heresy, Old World, etc.) do not currently feature at Warhammer Grand Tournament events.
  • A small pop-up store providing you with a select range of special event miniatures, official merchandise and more.
Warhammer Hobbyists playing grand tournament

A Warhammer Grand Tournament offers an exceptional opportunity to spend a weekend reconnecting with old friends, forging new friendships, and immersing yourself in the Warhammer hobby within a well-organized and professional environment. The positive atmosphere and camaraderie start before the first dice are rolled and persist long after. Regardless of the tournament you opt to compete in, engaging with Warhammer staff and fellow enthusiasts guarantees an enjoyable experience.
