Conflict in the workplace is common. It can impact all members of the academic medicine community, but it doesn’t have to result in a negative experience. How do you respond when differing ideas, perceptions, and priorities lead to conflict with others? Join us for the Transforming Conflict into Collaboration Virtual Workshop and discover practical strategies for making difficult conversations more productive and for creating a respectful environment in which to resolve conflict. 

What to Expect

The Transforming Conflict into Collaboration Virtual Workshop is a highly interactive experience, delivered in two 105-minute sessions, where you’ll explore new ways to manage conflict more effectively from the comfort of your home or office. 

Prior to the workshop, you’ll complete the Conflict Dynamics Profile assessment where you will:

  • Learn more about how you respond to conflict
  • Identify your personal triggers which can help you avoid conflict escalation

During the workshop, you’ll apply the knowledge you’ve gained from your assessment through:

  • Taking part in experiential exercises focused on real-life challenges  
  • Engaging in insightful discussions with your peers in academic medicine
  • Exploring how to transform conflict into opportunities for collaboration and problem-solving

Workshops are limited to 60 participants to provide an intimate and interactive experience for our attendees.

Who Should Attend

This introductory workshop is ideal for any faculty or staff who has not had formal training in conflict management or is interested in brushing up on their skills.

To register for and attend an AAMC meeting, you must be affiliated with an AAMC member institution. Please note that commercial representatives are not permitted to register for the meeting.
