17th Durban FilmMart

Shifting Worlds: Turning Towards Ourselves

The 17th Durban FilmMart (DFM) returns from 9–12 October 2026 in Durban, South Africa, bringing together African and diaspora film professionals to connect, collaborate and shape the future of filmmaking.

As the world shifts around us, Durban FilmMart 2026 creates the space to reflect on where we stand and where we are headed. Under the theme Shifting Worlds: Turning Towards Ourselves, this year's edition invites the industry to look inward to forge authentic partnerships, explore equitable co-production frameworks, develop alternative funding pathways and build new strategies for sustainable growth.

Through a dynamic programme of industry conversations, project presentations, networking opportunities and business engagement, DFM continues to serve as a platform for exchange, collaboration and innovation across the African film ecosystem and beyond.

Join co-producers, funders, distributors,  policy makers, industry leaders and creative partners who understand that centring African and Global South expertise is essential to the creative and commercial success of our stories.

Together, we can create new possibilities for success where collaboration does not mean the compromise of our vision or ethics, and where mutual respect and shared responsibility are built into our practice of working.
