Oral performance examinations are tests designed to determine whether candidates possess the minimum levels of language knowledge and interpreting skills required to perform competently during court proceedings. The test measures language knowledge and fluency in both languages and the ability to successfully render meaning from target to source language in each of the three modes of interpreting that are required of court interpreters. The entire exam consists of four parts: 1. Sight translation of a document written in English interpreted orally into the non-English language 2. Sight translation of a document written in the non-English language interpreted into oral English 3. Consecutive interpreting from English into the non-English language and from the non-English language into English 4. Simultaneous interpreting from English into the non-English language

Refund Policy: If the Office of Language access must cancel or reschedule, refunds will be processed as soon as reasonably possible. The Office of Language Access does not hold “credits” for future events.
If the original payment was processed through Cvent, a refund will be issued through Cvent, crediting the card used for the original payment.
Request for cancellation and refund of fee, will be granted minus the processing fee of $10.00.Individual requests for refunds, occurring after the month in which the event was held, will be considered on a case by case basis, and may not be issued.
