Northern AHSOR Gathering: Honouring Connections

Join us for the 2026 Northern Aboriginal Head Start On-Reserve (AHSOR) Gathering, a three-day event bringing together Aboriginal Head Start programs, families, educators, and community partners from across Northern BC to strengthen relationships, share promising practices, celebrate successes, and support culturally grounded early learning for First Nations children and families.

Grounded in the six key components of Aboriginal Head Start On-Reserve Culture and Language, Education, Health Promotion, Nutrition, Parent and Family Involvement, and Social Support the gathering will focus on supporting the well-being of First Nations children through community-led and culturally relevant approaches.

Accommodation: Marriott Courtyard and Coast Hotel.

FNHA will cover accommodations and travel reimbursement only for participants who attend all training days October 6 to 8, from 8AM – 430PM.

• Aboriginal Head Start On-Reserve Program Coordinators
• Early Childhood Educators (ECEs)
• Supportive Staff Workers
• First Nations Leadership and Community Representatives
• FNHA Advisors and Staff

What to Expect

Participants will have opportunities to:

• Learn from keynote speakers and presenters
• Participating in interactive workshops and cultural activities
• Explore community resources and vendor displays
• Sharing experiences and promising practices
• Network with colleagues and partners from across the region
• Strengthening collaborative approaches to supporting children and families

Daily Schedule

• Breakfast: 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM
• Morning Nutrition Break: 10:30 AM – 10:45 AM
• Lunch: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM
• Afternoon Nutrition Break: 2:30 PM – 2:45 PM
• Day Concludes: 4:30 PM
