Why this class is needed:

NIST announced v.1 of Cyber security FW in 2018. It has become the prominent FW for cyber security since then. Also, NYDFS issued Cyber Security Compliance Regulation for NYS financial institutions in 2018. One of the major requirements for NYDFS was to comply with NIST CS FW v.1. However, NYDFS created an enhanced compliance update on 11/23/24 while NIST was working on creating v.2 of CSFW which was finally announced on 2/26/24. We are expecting that NYDFS will issue update to comply with v.2 of NIST CSFW.
