Distributed Intelligence (DI) Training

A series of classes designed to build proficiency and experience using Itron’s Distributed Intelligence (DI) solution. You will be trained on the software and hardware used as part of DI. This course will cover the DI Enterprise Application Center as it used in DI projects, new DI applications that are a part of the UtilityIQ AMI Suite (DINA, DINA-Shim, DICD), how to use the DI Application Platform, and how to use Field Deployment Manager with DI.

DI.101: Introduction to Distributed Intelligence

This overview course outlines the Itron Distributed Intelligence solution, it’s many possible uses for utilities and the software and hardware used in a Distributed Intelligence project rollout.

  • Anyone newly involved in a Distributed Intelligence project.

Prerequisites

  • UIQ.101

Cost - $500 USD per student  

DI.200: The Itron DI Enterprise Application Center

This hands-on course covers the use and administration of the DI IAC as it used by utility staff involved in DI Projects.  In this course users will learn about the user interface, create device groups, install and license applications and learn to identify issues being reported from meters in the field.

  • Meter shop personnel who are preparing test environments for Gen5 Riva meters with DI Programs
  • Utility business team who will be involved in rolling out DI Applications in their environment.

Prerequisites

  • UIQ 101 (Or equivalent experience with UtilityIQ)
  • DI.101: Introduction to Distributed Intelligence

Cost: $500 USD

DI.210: DINA and UtilityIQ

This hands-on course covers the new Distributed Intelligence applications that are added to the UtilityIQ AMI Suite – DINA, DINA-Shim, and DICD.  It covers the use of the DINA application including setting up recurring read jobs for retrieval of DI Outcomes data from meters and searching for and viewing results from read jobs.

  • Utility business team who will be involved in rolling out DI Applications in their environment.

Prerequisites 

  • UIQ 101 (Or equivalent experience with UtilityIQ)
  • DI.101: Introduction to Distributed Intelligence
  • DI.220: Distributed Intelligence Application Platform

Cost - $250 USD per student 

DI.250: Field Deployment Manager with Distributed Intelligence

This hands-on course covers the configuration, administration, and use of the FDM Tools Server and FDM Client for managing Gen5 Riva meters with Distributed Intelligence.  We will focus on DI workflows and troubleshooting using the FDM Tools Client

  • Meter shop personnel who are preparing test environments for Gen5 Riva meters with DI Programs
  • Utility business team who will be involved in rolling out DI Applications in their environment. 

Prerequisites 

  • UIQ 101 (Or equivalent experience with UtilityIQ)
  • DI.101: Introduction to Distributed Intelligence
  • All students should have both the FSU-Service Tray and FDM Tools Client installed and working properly before this session. In addition, FSUs should be personalized with FSU-SAM and have available credits.

Cost - $250 USD per student  

DI.220: Distributed Intelligence Application Platform

This hands-on course covers the configuration, administration, and use of the DI Application Platform where DI Outcome data from the meters is displayed to the user. In this session users will learn basic application use, searching for devices, importing mdi files into the application and how to view outcomes data from meters.
