Keys to Math Success: Deep Dive of Math Competencies for NYSTCE Multi-Subject Exam Grades 7-12

In this three hour in-person workshop, participants will review the major NYSTCE math domains, practice with selected-response and constructed-response items, and receive targeted support. Through collaborative problem-solving and strategy sharing, participants will strengthen core math skills and develop concrete approaches to manage time, reduce stress, and maximize performance on test day.
- Identify strengths and growth areas across NYSTCE math domains and learn targeted, guided-practice strategies to build skills, improve accuracy, and increase confidence on test day.
- Learn how to efficiently use the test’s four-function on-screen calculator and reference sheet to support multi-step computation, checking, and error reduction on NYSTCE-aligned practice items through guided practice and discussion.
- Explore and practice strategies for managing time, reducing test anxiety and maintaining focus.
