The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and the Internal Revenue Services (IRS) will host a webinar to promote free tax preparation, do-it-yourself tax resources and economic inclusion resources for low -and moderate-income households, small businesses, students and other targeted groups. The event also promotes insured bank accounts among VITA clients as a gateway to economic inclusion, and as an effective way to expedite collection of tax refunds. A VITA service providers panel will present promising practices and provide an overview of how banks can play multiple roles at VITA sites to ensure VITA clients achieve economic inclusion and potentially develop emergency savings in addition to receiving free tax preparation
