Special Session | Mission Critical Team Building
A special half-day interactive team training limited to 50 participants. Separate registration is required.
When: Saturday, September 27th, 2025 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM. Runs as a parallel session to the pre-conference program.
About: Delivering on ECMO’s promise takes both advanced technology and advanced teamwork. This workshop from Mission Critical Team Institute helps participants build the “tactical swarm” teams needed for ECMO care, with training in communication, shared mental models, and rapid, multidisciplinary decision-making. Through interactive exercises, participants will strengthen their ability to operate and lead in complex, high-stakes environments.
Mission Critical Medicine training sessions are highly interactive experiences, and participating one is much more like joining a hackathon or flash think tank than sitting in a traditional medical conference. Based on the "no passengers, only crew" model, these sessions rely on team based problem solving, tactical decision games, and small group discussion to surface key issues and build tools that participants can take home and start using right away on their next shift. Space is limited - sign up for this session and come ready to work the complex problems that help make ECMO teams succeed or fail!
