The course provides detailed instruction on sentencing pursuant to the Three Strikes law and for felony sex crimes. The class will review the special rules for consecutive sentencing and custody credits. The sex crimes portion of the class will discuss the use of risk assessment tools, probation eligibility, and the containment model for sex offender case management. The class is presented with a combination of lecture, PowerPoint, and hypothetical case problems.
