CALL FOR POSTER PRESENTATIONS
The 2026 California Youth Justice Summit (YJS) invites researchers, students, practitioners, and community organizations to submit poster proposals highlighting research, evaluations, and innovative practices focused on youth in California.
Poster sessions provide an opportunity to share research findings, promising practices, and community-led solutions that support youth healing, opportunity, and system transformation.
The 2026 California Youth Justice Summit theme, “Heal the past, pave the future: watering the seed from youth voice to vision,” guides this year’s work and reflects our shared commitment to uplifting youth leadership and advancing meaningful change.
POSTER TOPIC AREAS
Poster proposals should focus on youth in California and align with one or more of the conference themes below.
Mental Health, Wellness, and Healing
Research or programs focused on trauma-informed care, behavioral health supports, healing-centered engagement, or youth wellness.
Restorative Justice
Approaches that center accountability, restoration, and community healing as alternatives to traditional punitive systems.
Organizing and Community Building
Community-led initiatives, youth organizing efforts, and grassroots strategies that strengthen communities and support youth development.
Partnership and Allyship
Collaborations between youth, community organizations, researchers, public agencies, and system partners that advance youth justice reform.
Education
Innovative education programs, school partnerships, workforce development initiatives, and educational pathways that support youth success.
Submissions may include research studies, program evaluations, policy analysis, or innovative programs that improve outcomes for youth in California.
WHO SHOULD SUBMIT
We encourage submissions from:
- Students and academic researchers
- Community-based organizations
- Youth advocates and youth researchers
- Practitioners working with youth
- Government or public agency staff
