AWARD NOMINATIONS
Overview
At the 2026 Youth Justice Summit we are healing the past and paving the future. OYCR and YAB have prioritized ensuring our young people have a seat at the table where decisions are made. Our goal is to empower the younger generation for success. We encourage you to consider this question: Will you settle as a player in a game you cannot win, or become the architect of a system that works for all?
Emerging leaders are shifting their focus from hierarchical authority to tangible results, prioritizing a track record of outcomes over formal designations. We owe it to our youth and the community to help bring voice to vision and vision to action.
OYCR and YAB will honor and recognize exceptional individuals who have been part of producing positive shifts for the California youth justice field. Nominations can be made by anyone, including self-nomination.
We are accepting nominations in four award categories:
- Youth Leadership Award (Open for ALL youth)
- Adult Ally in Youth Justice (System Partner)
- Youth Justice Ally (Community Member)
- Brilliance Beyond Bars (YAB member)
- Youth Voice Champion Award (System Impacted Only)
Awards will be announced and given during the 2nd Youth Justice Summit on October 5, 2026 at 12:00 pm, held at the San Diego Marriott La Jolla in La Jolla. Registration fees will be waived for the award recipients.
Nominations can be made by anyone, including self-nominations.
