We invite you to join us for a forward-looking symposium exploring the future of musculoskeletal rehabilitation while also celebrating the remarkable careers of Dr. Kornelia Kulig and Dr. Rob Landel as they retire from USC.

This event will bring rehabilitation professionals together for meaningful conversation, thoughtful debate, and shared reflection on where our field is headed next. More than a retrospective, the symposium is intended as a forum for exploring emerging ideas, challenging assumptions, and examining the evolving identity of musculoskeletal practice, education, and healthcare delivery — inspired by the lasting impact Drs. Kulig and Landel have had on the profession.

To that end, nationally recognized thought leaders have been invited to share their perspectives on the future of healthcare and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. We invite you to explore the outstanding lineup of speakers on the Speakers page. Attendance for the in-person experience will be limited, though the symposium will also be livestreamed and professionally recorded for those unable to attend onsite. A reception will follow the symposium for those attending in person, offering additional opportunity for conversation and reconnection.

In keeping with the lifelong commitment Drs. Kulig and Landel have demonstrated toward student growth, mentorship, and professional development, proceeds from the symposium will support the establishment of an endowed student scholarship in their honor. Even if you are unable to attend, we hope you will consider contributing to this scholarship and helping support future generations of physical therapists.

Course Description:

The objective of this symposium is to engage rehabilitation professionals in a forward-looking and intellectually rigorous exploration of the future of musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Participants will take part in a structured forum designed to encourage thoughtful debate, highlight emerging perspectives, and foster strategic reflection on the evolving direction of the profession, rather than focusing on retrospective or celebratory content.
