The MST Supervisor Orientation equips supervisors with the knowledge, skills, and practical tools needed to effectively lead clinical supervision, support clinician development, ensure quality improvement, and sustain strong community partnerships within MST programs. The training consists of 4 knowledge base components and is supplemented with a series of individual initial supervisor development calls with the supervisor’s MST expert:
1. Supervisor Orientation Introduction Call with the MST Expert
2. Independent Self-Paced eLearning Modules specific to the MST Supervisor job domains
3. An experiential training in a group setting to practice and receive feedback related to job tasks and responsibilities
4. Supervisor Orientation Conclusion Call with the MST Expert
Registration
The supervisor’s orientation training will begin immediately upon registration. The first two components of the training will occur between the MST expert and the MST supervisor providing instruction and immediate engagement in eLearning modules. To register for training, please click on the Online Registration Sites tab for training locations and dates available for the experiential component. Select an experiential training date that provides the supervisor with at least 4-6 weeks to complete their eLearning modules.
Attendance requirements:
- All registrants must be part of a licensed MST team or organization. In addition, all registrants must be registered on the MST Institute (MSTI) website, registered on the MST Site Directory with access to the Supervisor Development Resource and Provider Program Development Resource pages, and must be pre-approved to attend the training from their MST Expert prior to registering. The MST Expert is responsible for guidance related to MSTI registration and requesting permissions on the MST Site Directory page.
- Supervisors must complete the Supervisor MST eLearning modules before the experiential training date.
- Waiting lists may be maintained for each training, but must be cleared 21 days prior to the first day of training. Clearing includes either filling unconfirmed reservations or reassigning the waiting trainee to the next available training.
Training reservations & cancellations:
- Trainees cancelling within seven days are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
- Due to potential low enrollment, we reserve the right to cancel trainings no later than two weeks prior to the training start date. If a training is cancelled, the training coordinator will assist in finding the next available training.
