Human Resources Training Sessions

The TML Intergovernmental Risk Pool is providing human resources training on August 11, 2026 - August 12, 2026 in Carrollton, Texas. These programs will educate and motivate employees to develop work relationships and effectively carry out your organization's mission. These sessions are provided at no charge to TMLIRP member entities.

Civility in the Workplace

Disagreements in the workplace will occur. A key to successful workplace culture is to resolve disagreements in a beneficial way. This training is designed to help identify behaviors that cause unhealthy conflict in the workplace as well as how to modify those behaviors to work out differences. It will also address the distinctions between harassment, bullying, and uncivil behaviors. Employees will review the role of a bystander and the importance of taking action. Course discussions include the encouragement of personal empowerment to increase workplace ownership and positive workplace cultures.  (TCOLE 3009 credit is available).

New! Embracing Self-Care for Effective Public Service

As public employees, our role aligns with our personal passion to serve (take care of) others. However, when personal/professional stress makes its way into our lives to effectively care for others, we must take care of ourselves first. This session first shares the message that self-care is not selfish. It also looks at acknowledging stress, the difference between stress and burnout, mitigating and managing stress (work/life), and understanding that "it's OK to not be OK...BUT...it's NOT OK to not ask for help". Additionally, it focuses on the importance of building relationships and how they can help us mend by looking beyond self.
