A SIGNIFICANT POINT OF DIFFERENTIATION IS THAT UNLIKE OTHER CAPTIVE DOMICILES, BERMUDA'S STATISTICS DO NOT INCLUDE INDIVIDUAL CELLS OF CAPTIVES.
Additionally, the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) has stated in its annual report that there are about another 100 companies licensed as small commercial insurers in Bermuda that might be classified as captives in other jurisdictions. This means that while the raw numbers might appear lower, they don't fully represent the activity and scale of the market.
