The Perils of Being a Personal Representative: A Panel Discussion of the Top Ten Estate Administration Headaches for Executors, Administrators and their Advisors

Serving as a personal representative can be challenging under even the best circumstances. But when an estate involves a disputed spouse, a California vacation property, a missing beneficiary, a U.S.-resident child, a disagreeable co-executor, tax filing issues, insolvency concerns, or impatient beneficiaries, the administration can quickly become complicated.

In this lively panel discussion, our speakers will explore ten real-world estate administration "perils" that frequently confront executors, administrators, trustees and their advisors. Drawing on practical experience from law, trust administration and taxation, the panel will discuss how these issues arise, the risks they create, and strategies to help avoid costly mistakes.

Whether you advise clients during the planning stage or assist with estate administration after death, this session will provide practical insights, cautionary tales and planning opportunities to help navigate some of the most challenging situations encountered in modern estate practice.
